July 24, 2008 - The Journal News reports:
Bear Mountain State Park is filled with natural wonders, from the flora and fauna to breathtaking views of the verdant ridges surrounding it. The attractions are all the more remarkable for their proximity to the concrete canyons of New York City. There really is that much green so close to Gotham.

I grew up roaming around Bear Mountain. We explored everywhere and never used any maps. First time, I ate blueberries in the wild and camped out. I love this place and want to share my experiences with others and also want to learn what's new there.
Pictured on the right, is a walk we went on in May 20, 2007. I hope to take my cousin here someday too. This is the Lichen Trail which is one of my favorite hiking spots.
